Just picked up this 1968 A-C b-112 with a plow and a nice set of cast iron Bolens wheel weights, which worked out really good because I had a set of A-C wheel weights on my '64 Bolens 800... funny how things work out sometimes.

I really need to stop buying tractors now I'm up to 11 in all, Well... maybe just 1 more.

That tractor looks to be in very good condition. Sometimes things do have a funny way of working out.

I need to work on my Varispeed also. It does not want to clutch in the low range. Get the manual and follow it, is the best advice I can give.

Yep, thats exactly what mine is (or for that matter isn't) doing. I'm sure I'll get to the bottom of it though, as soon as I can muster up a free moment.

Mine was out of ajustment (had no more),, I thought I needed a new belt to solve the problem,, spent the $58 for a new belt, that didn't change a thing, that's when I started looking at all the linkage. I'll try to get a shot of it today. Someone parked a 4041 in my garage,, made things a little tight.

I shortened the final linkage rod that hooks to the idler,, this improved the overall geometry of the clutch linkage. I took a bunch off mine,, it is now 4" center to center. I'm not saying this will fix yours,, but it radicaly changed mine,, with the new Simplicity return spring,, I had too much clutch and had to lengthen the clutch pedal about 2" ,just so I could push it down,,,lol
A note about adjusting,, back off your brake band first,, then adjust clutch pedal travel,, so it disingages properly,, then the pulley clevis so that the belt just runs at the top of the back pulley in low . Once you get the pulleys adjusted,, And you have to this with it jacked up and running in gear,,, then go back and adjust your brake band so it brakes at the bottom of your pedal travel.
Hope this helps someone,,, as I have a bald spot on my head from scratching on this problem.
But sincerly,, mine will never slip a belt,, or fail to clucth,, nor fail to stop on a dime.
Good Luck !!

Were you having belt slippage issues before this Denny? I had slippage problems in lower ranges late this summer with the B-210. Was thinking it was time to let go of major money for a belt, but maybe not?
