I need to make a rear ball hitch for my 314. Any picture's or thoughts available here? Thanks Jay.

If I made one like the picture. Could I put the ball where the arrow points, would this work? Found this picture of Phil's toy on this site.

Btw that hitch did not work. The lift rod was way too far out on the lift lever. Took three men and a little boy to lift the implements. I moved the lift point about 1/2 the way in and it works fine.

The only problem with a ball on the hitch is that without a positive stop the tongue of a trailer will slam forward and up upon braking. Not stable on a 7000/700 series with its cable lift but could work on a 300 series since there is a solid link between the rock shaft and the lift lever if the slide feature were eliminated.

Thanks' Phil. What should I build? I can't find pictures. Surely most have a ball hitch to pull with. Thanks for any help.

This might give you some ideas. A word of caution is warranted on pulling heavy loads on a ball above the rear tractor axle. http://www.michaelstractors.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5654&SearchTerms=Roy,pope,ball,hitch

I Like the third option. I'll give it a try.
Thanks, it helps to have a site like this with members who can help out.

I got one of those from Roy and ended up giving it to my brother in Indiana.

The up/down movement seems fine. I added the stop bar on it so it won't slam forward. All seems lined up good. The rains have stopped so maybe I'll take it out and try moving something with it soon.
