Well today I got the walk behind blower out and changed the discharge belt with no problems. Then I went back out to the shed to get the 914H with the blower on it out for its pre- season service and low and behold there was no reverse at all. It moved forward just fine. I did swear a few times but really wasn't all that upset as I figured I had the walk behind all set and would just do a hydro rebuild in the spring. So, I got the summer rider and bagger all tucked away and covered for winter as well as the Early B10 and went to get the 914H to put that away. Just for kicks I flopped the fender pan back and low and behold ......... The damn free wheeling lever was partly engaged! After calling myself a dumbass and putting the lever back into full hydro position, it backed across the yard with grace and style! Moral of the story: things aren't always as bad as they seem! |

Still getting used to it. Too many hours behind the wheel of a geared tractor I guess. The Kohler is definitely different . It sounds different, feels different and runs different. I can tell from the sound of a Briggs how hard it is working. Not so with the Kohler. Now I have two 16 hp tractors and both of them have more hp than I will ever use. The Kohler seems to be very thirsty, I will have to see how the big Briggs will fair. It would be interesting to see how they compare. |

I have heard that Kohkers are thirsty. I haven't really used my 14 enough to notice but there is a snowstorm on our doorstep so I hope to get some seat time tomorrow. How is the 916's size compared to your "716"? I love the long hood of the 914 when sitting behind the wheel! |

If you think a 16 horse Kohler is thirsty, then you don't want to own an Onan 16 horse twin! But the Onans do have great power, and sound so good. |

We fared well during the 2 bug snows here. It was a record breaking warm Sat and Sun so it's all gone now.

We are still soaking down here. We have had 11 inches in the last two weeks. We are saving y'all from countless feet of snow. |

Yep, you've been locked in a monsoon down there! We might get an inch of snow tonight. |
