of course there is still plenty of time for this to become a scorched dust bowl. Has before and will again.

Rain literally all around me, but not a drop yet! That yard does look nice Larry. Like a memory around here. Temps over 100 for several days and no real rain for over a month. Crops look like crap or dead. Takes a fella down low.
At least not everyone is in that sinking boat. |

I'm sorry to hear that. Are your crops a total loss, or can they recover still?
We have had plenty of afternoon highs breking 100, but have had about 1 good shower a week. It will turn brown in a hurry if the showers dont keep up.

The corn is holding it's own, but in dire straits if it doesn't get some rain right away. I'm literally surrounded by lots of rain, but not getting a single drop so far. We will have silage no matter what, but any corn for grain is yet to be seen. No matter what, we're losing thousands of dollars that will take at least a few GOOD years to recover from. IF we get rain from this system, we'll have a fair to poor year ahead of us. If we do not get rain soon, it's gonna be piss poor. |

Looks awfully nice there Larry! I don't know how far behind we are on rain, but it's been weeks since we've seen a raindrop. Early June, maybe? I water the garden frequently, and it's the best yield I've had in my life. Took 32 Zuchini just the past this week, have a batch of pickles canned and my earliest tomatoes and peppers. The zukes are growing so fast I can't catch them before they are mammoth!
No green grass though... |

Your place looks like it should be in Home and Garden Mag. Larry! It looks great, I hope you can keep it that way all summer. I know it can get hot and miserable in NH. I spent time on Lake Winnipesaukee in the mid 60's as a kid. I remember there were days when it was too hot to do anything but sit in the water trying to keep cool. I hope you are spared of that kind of heat since you are farther west.
We are headed to Gloucester MA on the 13th for a week at the family summer home. It gets unbearably hot there too even by the shore. We won't stay if it gets too hot. So try to keep it cool in NE for all of us.

Looks good Larry! This last bout of heat the last 2 weeks finished the job on drying out the lawn. The garden is doing good, been watering it when i can, and like Josh said, those zucchini are really coming! Been getting a lot of cucumbers as well. We had our first harvest of string beans for dinner tonite, man they were good!  |

| We got 2.5 inches of rain today in a period of about 1 hour. Cooled it down into the seventies. There were people stranded all over the parish, but my daughter had no measurable rain just 15 miles away. I don't think I have ever had the grass turn brown down here in summer regardless of rain fall. |

Ragweed are laying over in places here. Last night storms everywhere, but not more than a sprinkle here. The crabgrass is dead! |

Yes, humidity way up, but temps way down. Feels much better. Being not so hot will allow the crops to hang on a little longer waiting for rain. |

Well, it looks like no rain in the forecast here. July is usually quite dry here, SO, I'll probably get to post some scorched pictures sometime.
Daniel, I sincerely hope you get a nice slow steady rain very soon, or even a 1/2 hour deluge.
It really sucks sitting helplessly and watching your livlyhood wither.
Down right chilly here this morning, 46 degrees. highs only in mid 70's.
