Last year I had the weedcutter on my LL 2110, and that was nice, great, fun, etc., BUT: I thought - this would be great on a hydro. To be able to creep forward and back off ion an instant, to go in and out and back and forth along the edges of the fields.
I think the designer of the weedcutter had to have been dreaming of a hydrostatic drive. Perfect match.
Well, I got my weedcutter set up on my spare 3212H now, and its everything I could wish for.
Except now I will have to go hunt down another hydro tractor, as this was my last spare.

That's a very nice setup Larry! I could see where hydro would be ideal with the Weedcutter, but there's a hydro drought around here. =[ Makes me glad I grabbed one when I did last year.
I do prefer hydrolift when I use a cutter...mine will really roll some sod if it's left on the ground when turning, and I try to minimize the wear on it and float it an inch or so off the ground. I miss running it...nothing 'weedy' is growing around these parts this summer. |

Thanks, I think this is close to the cats meow. And there are plenty of weeds here!
I have my manual lift set so it is about an inch when on level ground. Works greatand I just left it there full time today.
There is a "Hydroglut" here... LOL I have Vickers in 3 x 3212H, 1 x 3314H, 1 x 3415H, 1 x 3416H, and a Homelite T-16H. And this 3212H with the weedcutter is the only one without power lift. :) Thats 7? Good number.
I dont count the 4 Sundstrands in later tractors |

I see...so the manual lift has a pin or bolt to hold it at a max-lowered position? That sounds perfect! I've always thought the Weedcutter was one of the finer operating attachments, but my only hydro is a dedicated lawn mower and now has that darned FEL in the way...Otherwise, I'd love to try the cutter on the 'H'!
You only have 7 or 8 hydro's I wouldn't mind having there, Larry =] |

If you have just one hydro, mow with it. And yes, there are two rows that you can put pins in as stops. t worked super today.
I have 7 vickers, 6 runnning strong, and 4 Sundstrands, 3 running
and non hydro's. 725, 2010, 2110, B210, 3012V, 3212V, 3315V, 3415S, 7016-6, 7112H, and 2 Sovereign 18 V-Twin Hydros
Wow, thats 21 running, more than I thought. |
