| This is my recent acquistion, with tiller, mower deck and snowblower. It is in pretty fair shape I'd say, but with some missing parts. I hope to snoop around some in the shed in which it was stored and hopefully score on the majority of missing stuff, if I even know what to look for. I think I'd recognize most thanks to the great pictures of projects and completed tractors on this site. I do have the owners manuals etc, but I will need to locate parts manuals and any other technical publications that are available. This tractor does have the Hi Lo option, but is missing the actuator lever and assembly that mounts to the hi lo housing. The tractor is now in lo range, can I manually shift this to Hi until I locate the rest of the linkages? Also, tried several times to attach some pics, whats the trick? |

| Allen; on the pics, make sure there are only numbers and or letters in the pic title and no spaces. Symbols won't load. Also try to make them 640x480 or smaller. Yes you can manually shift it into high by moving the housing in or out with tractor not running. Dave. |

Allen, are you using a hosting site like photobucket.com? You need to upload your pics someplace like that, then use the direct link pasted inside the [img] symbols.
Sounds like a nice find, by the way! I'msure there's a story behind it. How did you run across the tractor? |

In photobucket, you should be able to mouse over the image when looking at your album. The various links will appear below the thumbnail as a type of dropdown. All you need to do is click on the 'Direct Link', and it should vanish and say 'Copied'. Then hit the button here, and paste the copied link between the symbols.

Yup, that thing is going to be a tilling fool! Do you happen to have an 8 or 10" drive pulley on that thing, to slow her down in the garden? SUre looks like a nice rig!

| It does have the HiLo option if that is what you mean. The actuator lever is missing but I did manually shift it from Lo to Hi range for moving around etc. I'm hoping to find this lever and other missing parts when I can do a "walk thru" of the shed where it was stored. Think I'm also missing a parking brake lever? I've changed all the fluids, tightening things up and trying to get all in working order so I could use it for the summer. Can't wait to do a teardown tho and resto. Tiller is stuck, I think it must be bound up in the internal chain drive, mower deck seems to be complete and in excellent shape so should be able to at least mow with it soon. I'd like to get a new seat ordered this week, have seen a few advertised, does anyone have advice as to which is a good source? |

| You will likely need ti find the source of that little puddle underneath but it looks like a very complete rig, less the center PTO. BTW: one drawback of the photo bucket is if you thin out your album on the site you will wipe out any photos you posted elsewhere. |

| Phil: The puddle was a leaking axle tube seal, seems like it has stopped leaking after i changed the diff fluid and drove it around a little. Where does the center pto mount? Is it required for a mower deck? If so I hope I find it in the "spare parts" shed. |

| Oh, and thanks Mr. Green for posting my pics. I'll try working on my tech skills, my photo manager program doesn't seem to have to resize feature except for emailing pictures. |

| Your transmission oil may have been a bit over filled. If overfilled the BGB and Transmission will surely leak. The PTO mounts on the front corner of the transmission/BGB side plates with a 5/8" pivot rod. It is a requirement to run the mower. I really don't understand people removing it since it really does not interfere with any other function. |

| This tractor was mostly used for tilling, at least later on in it's life, so apparently the pto was removed for some reason. I hope to find the missing pieces soon, otherwise i'll have to do some shopping. I was hoping to use it mainly for mowing. |

I'm pretty sure I have a spare mid-PTO, and that HiLo lever is part of the assembly...welded on. Do you have a pic of your HiLo? You may need the entire shift mechanism, and here's a good discussion on the boys making a reproduction.

I'll have to look around when I get a chance to go down to the barn. I thought I had a complete PTO...either way, they are frequently available on ebay. |
