This 3 belt gizmo Fits my Big 10 like a glove. Perfect FDT attachment! A weed cutter might be more perfect, but I dont have one of those yet.

I have never seen a picture or literature for the weed cutter in yellow. Same with the carry all box, however I saw a photo of one at a show painted yellow on an Allis but it could have just been painted. Most everything else seems to have been readily available to both brands.

I've never seen a yellow one either. A little strange when Allis put together a LOT of attachments for the fdt's

Nice pictures Larry, could be used as a reference for putting one together. I for one would like a three belt, just 'cause it's odd and dangerous looking! You brought up one of my most wanted attachments, the weed cutter. I have never seen one in yellow, anyone know if it was available Allis labeled?

Yeh, I guess you could be missing the hitch, I hope not.

I like the uniqueness of the odd/old attachments, even though they can be a pain to maintain.

Could you post some pictures? This blower doesn't have a seperate hitch like newer ones. Everything is one peice and had everything to mount it. (except for a 1/4" key)

Also LOVE the pictures....good work! Those may come in handy...

No, the mount is the same on all FDT's from the 725/B1 and newer.

Thanks Larry. I don't think I've ever seen one of those before. But I'm not an old timer when it comes to Garden tractors. Just old

I love mine Larry, not only does it keep the tall weeds down on unmowed areas, it does wonders for my temperment mowing down saplings after a rough day at the office!

Walking around the front on ice to turn it on and off certainly meets my criteria for "risk management nightmare".

It also looks like it acts as a reduction gear. I like it... I am sure it would be a risk management nightmare.

No, the 3 belt 990175 36" snowthrower is Simplicity's first tractor mounted blower, made for the 725. They only made it in 60-61 before changing to the 1 belt setup that could be turned on and off from the seat. I called it a gizmo because it looks like a "Rube Goldberg Contraption". It's actually pretty neat how all the arms and pulleys pivot and swivel to allow it to go up and down.

Since it's in great shape, and one of Simplicity's least desireable attachments, I'm stuck with it and figure I might as well have a little fun with it.... and giving me more time on the Big 10, priceless!
