Just bought this JD 430 diesel today. Almost new deck shell, engine runs like a new one, with 770hrs on the running meter. I didn't need it, but at just $1200, there's plenty room to make some money on it, or I may decide to keep it. They are a hoss of a tractor for sure! No 3pt, but did come with the lift arms and a 3rd arm link. I can
fabricate the rest. These have a 20hp Yanmar diesel 3 cylinder. Has a new fuel pump, ignition switch, and all new filters. NO leaks anywhere either. Some damage to grill & hood, but all easy enough to repair. Has the spring ride seat option too.

I had no difficult with the G5200 with its manually activated glow plugs but the g1800 went thru the starter switch which may have been defective. In fact as I recall I had to install a manual shutoff for the same reason.

I've ran my JD F935 out of fuel ONCE. Once is all it takes to never let it happen again! Liked to never have gotten it bled to fire!

I think the only time I've had to think about it is when I forgot to put fuel in it. If you shut it down right away it will start right up again when the fuel is added. I did a dumby once and tried to nurse it back to the shed. That time I had to purge air out of everything.

To the best of my recollection there is no free wheel provisions on these tractors. I could see where that could be a hassle.

That's the thing with my Bota....she always starts! Only one time did I ever have a problem, and it was in my drive, already out of the shed. She started stumbling, then died. Was just a clogged fuel filter, and an easy fix.

I was wrong about deck wheel settings. They are to be 1/4" from a flat surface with the travel limiter set for that height. They ARE for anti-scalp/anti-dig! I set them correctly, then mowed a spot. Mowed even nicer than yesterday,& no divets this time. The back of the deck was way higher than the front yesterday.

good that is a great feature. Nothing like having to jack up one of your rear tires on gravel to allow the differential to turn so it can be moved. I had to do that twice and one time I could not manage it and both my other tractors were trapped in front. It was nothing more than a battery issue but did not have cables long enough to jump her off. That is what prompted me to build my one deep shed.
