Just a couple photos of my 5 year old loving her tractor. Going to put a mower deck on it this week and see how it does.

| Danny, do you drive him around on something? It amazed me how they watch what you do and then copy it. My son was driving his with a roller behind it at 3.5 years old. I walk beside them all the time(except to jump away to get a few pics now and then!) but he instantly picked up on turning to avoid things. Now sometimes at that age they will look at you smiling and for approval but I just keep reminding them to look ahead and watch where they are going. Plus, I have it in low gear and doing about half throttle until they are really comfortable. My older three kiddos can now use the clutch so I let them drive around themselves while I am within shouting distance. But my two little ones(age 5 and 7) I pretty much walk beside and encourage them while they smile away. The Serf, Yeoman and Broadmoor are perfect them to begin on, light, easy to steer and they can just move along at like 1-2mph while walking next to them. The shots I take that make them look like they are going fast I'm using extremely slow shutter speeds and panning with them to make it look like they are moving quickly. But even in high gear I think these max out at 4mph. Wow, sorry for the book! |

Beauty thanks. I needed that. My eldest is near on 6 and he steers the car coming up our long driveway and rides on my knee on my tractor sometimes. I have a Yeomen that I was going to get going for him but the Briggs needed attention so I tried fitting a newer Honda because it's much quieter but It doesn't want to go in and I'm not cutting the tractor to fit it in. I'm glad to hear it's trick photography and your kids aren't going at break neck speed as they look.

| Ha! Yeah, no speeding. I like to do the 'action photos' to prove the tractors are running. I like playing with the camera and taking fun pictures. I haven't modified the tractors to make them go faster than the intended 4mph or so. I am using shutter speeds as slow as 1/10 or 1/15 of a second to get those blurry speed shots. That is slow. The Yeoman when you get it running will do like 1.5-2mph at mid throttle and just roll along nicely for you to walk beside. Good luck!! |

| OK a little brag here. When I was six (6), I started driving the AC model b or c, I don't remember. I drove it to pull a wagon while the bigger folks picked sweet corn by hand and pulled a slip while they picked up hay bales. I had to steer, use the clutch and brakes. I never killed anybody. It was only done on flat fields. When a little older I steered a 1 1/2 ton truck pulled by a tractor while haying on a steeper field. It was rented field so we had to take the hay several miles home so couldn't use the slip. I did have to use the brakes when going down hill. |
