Here's the reel mower attachment I made for my Simplicity Model D. It works great. I used the idea from a Simplicity catalog the design from the Planet Jr version for attaching it to the hitch with u-bolts.

It's a 16". Hand mower hitch or universal mower hitch is what they called them. Most walk behind tractors had it as an option.

Bet there would have been a million kids would have loved to have one of those back in the 30's and 40's. Neat idea.
I found one of those old reel push mowers in my Great Aunts garage and thought it was cool. Then one day My dad told me to mow her lawn. Didn't take very long before my infatuation with that mower wore off.

My Grandmother insisted her lawn be cut with a reel mower. It looked nice but it meant you had to pick up EVERY twig before cutting because any twig would knock it out of adjustment!!.......and it wasn't a small lawn. lotsa pushing.
