just picked up a model 728 serial or model 765-004284 on tag can't find a wiring diagram anywhere has the 8hp briggs without a stater gen just electric start. any help Thanks Ken

Well, to my understanding the model 728 was never made with a gear driven starter, so wou are not going to be able to find a wiring diagram specific to that engine in that machine. You will have to use the wiring diagram from a later model and adapt to your tractor. Thanks was afraid of that wiring is not my strong point, tractor does run just have to jump straight to the starter
