Recently got an allis 42" snowthrower in trade and where the mounting bracket like on the simplicity equilivents are, there are tabs, and the color is cream. Would this be a 300/400 series snowthrower? I can't find pics to confirm this so this must be a hard to find item?

here are pictures of a 300 series snowblower...

the 300 blower will fit both the 3 and 400 tractors... the 400 blowers are more like any allis simplicity blower

here are the 3 & 400 series blower hitches only:

Thank you sammiefish for confirming this. Yup that is the right housing with the tabs going outward by the hitch mount. Another question is, does this shield go on the rear hitch to cover the idler pulleys?

that is a cover mostly lost over the years...
I have a few but I never install them...
it covers the driven pulley at the end of the 300 hitch...
the bevels go toward the blower. there is a big plastic molded
wingnut (with a steel nut in the casting) that holds it in place.
I always thought there was only one big nut... the other hole just
kept the housing aligned
