We'll take what we can get. The lake effect snows, with this cold snap, have given us upwards of 15" or so. Sicne it's light snow, it settles fast, and I have to be quick to plow and enjoy
Has about a foot on top, and a foot or better at the base. It's slowly vanishing....
Yesterday morning...the Wx-man lied about our temps. It was 6 below.
Yesterday's cleaning...
I'm runnign front AG's on the plow tractor this year. They really bite and steering is vastly improved. The fatty turfs on my HB-112 were aggrevating by comparison.
Time to give the blower a try too...not a big fan of a blower, and Wednesday nite was a bear. Had just the slightest breeze and got dusted badly. On top of that, the HB ran like poo. Was running real lean, and no amount of carb adjustment would fix it. I put it to bed and found the problem yeseterday morning. Not sure how I missed it, but the plug blew out. I found it in the back of the garage (circled in red).
New plug in and ready to go...
Cutting a path down to the trailer (just in case that 'deal' pops up on CL)
Glad to have some quality seat time. They say rain and mid-40's here by Tuesday. |

Lots of good seat time I'd say! Not got to use any of mine, and today we have a sheet of ICE on everything. I65 near here is an absolute mess.....like a parking lot behind all the wrecks! |

I'm trying to plan a trip West to Iowa, to take care of some trades I have lined up, and am worried about that very same thing. Planning a long drive in January/February is tough. Even without a storm, snow comes here just based on the wind direction whenever it's good and cold. My first two and last two hours of the drive are along Lake Michigan's lake effect snowbelt. 10 miles can mean a night and day difference in road conditions. Then, factor in 300 miles of driving I90, across 3 states, and any number of things could make for a much longer commute. |

I envy you the moisture. We need it badly. I think we will be using water as a bait when fishing next year.

Chris, I had no idea you were dry out that way. Guess I need to watch the news more often. Hope things change for you SOON! |

That's good seat time there! We had 2" today, and i enjoyed using the dozer blade in the moonlight tonite! Makes quick work of clearing the drive, and its fun! |

Now you're talkin'! I moved another 4" tonite before bed, and probably will do the same in the morning, then pitch the banks back again with the blower. I ran the township bike path that runs the West side of my property too. They haven't touched it all week, so it was fun running WOT in 3rd, rolling the hardpack from the foot traffic and snowmobiles. I found a couple stress cracks and used the 'spring-trip' featrure twice

Josh; you are one lucky guy. Barely have an inch here and temps going above freezing Mon. so no point blowing. Dave |

Even though my wife thinks I'm crazy....it helps!!! |

47 and rain today. I have about an inch and a half of snow left now at lunch time, after moving another half foot Saturday morning, and 2" last nite. Was an icy mess today headed to work, once I left the drive. I don't think a guy could stand upright on my street without falling. |

Glad you made it to where you were going without an accident. Sounds nasty.

It was...I think it's acombo of the hardpacked snow, from the unrelenting lake effect, and the very cold ground. Once that warm air and rain hit, everything went icy and slick. Made it to work fine, but a 10 minute drive took 35. Slooooow and easy. =] |

Maybe you should put a cab on your tractor and drive it in to work. |

It would be a toss up between which is faster!
After last week's warm-up, we lost all our snow...probably over a foot and a half was on the ground. Was 60 and raining, and even the piles were gone. Since Thursday, we've gotten that much and more already. I plowed twice yesterday, and woke up to a foot this morning...I"m lovin it.

Wrapped up round two...4 more inches, and moved the banks back a bit with HB/Blower. Oh what fun... |
