The 17 and 112 got a workout in the gravel. I had 60 tons brought in total. The 17 moved it and i used the belly blade on the 112 to smooth it and then dragged the tires around to finish.

( I noticed the wall of my soon to be carport looks like they are leaning, it is just my camera phone throwing it out of proportion.)

That looks like fun, at least the spreading part. The paying part, not so much! Looks like the pair did a fine job of the task. You've certainly made some major changes there!

I forgot what you said you used to lift those block? I have finished lining the walls of 2 large silage pits, and one side of a 3rd one with the identical block. At this point, I've used about 650 block.

First pit in use:

2nd pit walls complete, behind loader to the left.

The retaining wall directly behind the loader now is extended to the right, which forms the one wall we have completed on the 3rd & final pit. We need 45 more block to finish the other side of this pit. We should have enough in a month or so to finish, then pour new floors in the spring.

I suppose .the "gravel" is crushed limestone. I'm impressed with how straight your borders are.

Daniel. I have an AC 621 all terrain forklift that i used to set the blocks.
I used about a foot of gravel for a base on the blocks. I rented a trackhoe to remove the trees and dug the hillside out and cut a trench for the gravel base.

Phil. I used railroad ties to divide the grass from the gravel on the downhill side. I backfilled dirt up to the ties so i will be able to mow it easy.
used the belly blade to cut into the up hillside going up the left side of the blocks and pushed the gravel up to the edge of the cut.
My buddy that hauled the gravel called it crusher run. I do not know is it is limestock or not.

Here is a picture before i started standing in about the same place as the first pic above.
