Just curious,, how many of the original early B canvas cabs survived ? I'm in the process of re-doing mine ( what a pain ). After 48 years , it finally just fell apart. I'm trying to stay as original as possible,, maybe with the exception of adding a door on the left side. I'll post pics as it re-covers. |

I have one, but have never mounted it. It's complete, but hte cavas and poly panels are very fragile. I actually just recently began getting quotes from local upholsterers, and have a fella coming by the house this week to look it over and see what he thinks. I'm also looking to have him redo a pair of Simplicity pan style seats (crimp on edges) and replicating my yeoman seat cover.
I don't have any pics...and the cab is stuffed away up in my attic. When I get it down for this fella, I will snap a pic.
Here is a rather nice one, and is actually the fella I bought mine off of.

Haha...my wife wouldn't be laughing one bit. I have to spend my time after work feeding and cleaning baby, to relieve her! No time or desire to sew =[ |

I don't have a singer but I do have and industrial Union Special that does a very nice job. I restored it last year. Was thinking of trying to make a snow cab for the 7790 now that I have a snowthower. Looks like your doing a good job to me. Have fun. |

That's lookin great! What, specifically, did you use for Lift-the-dot connectors? I'd love to reuse the originals, but not sure if it can be done. |

All the "lift the dot" hardware came from www.sailrite.com , as did the vinyl,,, canvas came from Big Duck Canvas Warehouse |

I like the addition of that black panel to seal off the area over the hood. Could I trouble you for more pics? This is a talent I don't beleive I have, but you've got me thinking now. My mother had a very nice Singer, that was built into some sort of a sewing table/cabinent..it had foot pedals, etc, and I hve no idea how it was used or if she even still has it.
I had a boat specialty place quote me $795...haha! NEXT! |

The black panel is as original,,, they claimed it prevented glare. Most got torn,,, and found their way to the muffler. I've probably got about $150 in material, and hardware ,,haven't bought the white paint yet for the framing. I'll continue to take more pics as it procedes,,, got the top and back panel all done except for snaps,,, soon as I get it final fit,, more pics. It's been tough to find time to work on it,,shop is backed up for 12 weeks,,, and trying to get some deer hunting in too. |

Does ANYBODY have an original assembly manual (or parts) for these cabs ???,, The seat surround panel has me scratching my head,, as to what it fastens to along the sides,,, and does it go under the seat or over it. I had a good peice for a pattern,,, but it appears to have been never fastened,, it has 2 grommets at the foreward tips ????? |
