Took a drive today to pick up a little toy for Jr. This is the first tractor my wife saw a picture of and said 'Go get that'.

It's a beautiful original, missing 2 hood bolts and a seat cover (both of which I'm stealing off my Yeoman). Has the original 5 horse that sat for 10 years or so, but runs like a top, and cuts great too. Gas is a bit stinky but she'll get a sprucing up.

This one is a manual start model without the lift kit...1969 serial #35. Briggs is dated '68.

You can't tell from the pictures above, but the trip was one for the books. Drove down in the morning sun, left the seller's place to rumbles of thunder, and drove through mist, pouring rain, sleet, ping-pong ball sized hail, lightning, heavy (and I mean blinding) snow, and passed a pretty good sized tornado. Temperature dropped from 57 to 41 degrees in moments during the hail storm. I think I experienced every kind of weather Michigan has...had to pull off the road twice, and passed several police barricades as I headed away from the tornado.

BUT...the Serf made it home just fine

That little tractor is just about mint. Nice find. And congratulations on the choice you made for a spouse. She sounds like a peach.

Oh, she is! She's not one for going out in the 'cold', but she bundled up and chased the dog on the Serf for a while. Now she tells me that SHE was the parent to take the baby for his first ride on a tractor.
