Can anyone see a difference in this photo above verses the one in the link below?
http://www.michaelstractors.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=709
After I figure this out, you should notice that opening this page is faster than the pictures in the other post. Did anyone see a difference in the quality of this picture to what we had before?
Note: I use Microsoft Photo to compress images I am making. I've mastered that tool. I'll be looking to suggest the easiest tools for you all. When I compress what Munk uploaded for us (thank you again), I went from 156K to 30K. Think of it like going from a 20hp to a 4hp engine. Thank you for any replies.

Well Michael, My cable connection is so quick I can see no difference in time of display. That said, the only way I can tell one picture from the other is to right click on it and look at the properties to see its size. I use Photoshop so I can easily reduce the file size on all future posts. Hey! I love pictures so any way we can reduce "bandwidth" and still have quality pictures I am in favor of. |

My speed is about the same with cable DSL also. Between the pics, yours is just slightly brighter, otherwise the same. |

Thanks, it's strange, I only saw a brightness change like Olecowhand in the quality. I do see a load time delay in the pictures and notice that if I refresh the page because the webpage is going to two different servers, I get the RED-X on the pictures. Anyway, you answered my question; thanks! |

How did they get a 150 KB picture to upload to the site? |

Munk put them on another server; if you look at how other sites do picture uploads (example AntiqueTractorsForum) you'll see they want you to use an outside vendor and not their servers. I've found the 100KB limit does great for what we're doing; that also keeps the space usage growth under control. If we didn't limit it, we'd run out of disk fast. |

I know this thread was back in January, but I cannot see the pictures Mink uploaded. Are the remaining pics still available? I would like to attempt power steering on my 4040.
Thanks! |

I need to see if I have a set of those and I'll try to post them. See if Larry responds to an email if you would also. |
