Well, since my 7016 isn't starting again I am using my birthday Sovereign to mow. Beautiful cut. I adjusted the vari-drive but I know it is still slipping. So some work to do. But it's a fun transmission!

Lookin good Jon! That's a beautiful lawn and some serious Autumn striped...is the your father's place?
I finally got some seat time on my Sovvy today, and I love those big 'ol 48" decks. Something cool about that long-frame machine too...lots of hood out front, or somethin =] |

| Right you are Josh, Pop's house next door. There is something about them, the nice ride, I don't know if the steering ratio is different than the 7000 series but the 3212 sure seems easier to steer, and I know it has a sharper turning radius. Just feels so much more manuverable than my 7016. They are a comfy tractor. I saw your post, you got a ton of seat time! Well done. Good luck in your hunting, my oldest daughter was born November 15th so I will never forget when Opening Day is!! Be safe bro... |

| I think the steering is better with the 48" deck thatn with the 42"...I've never investigated it, but I lose a lot of turing ability with my 42" deck on, vs off. I do like the ride of the Sovereign's but intend to put skinny fronts on mine. I love the 4" tribars, and am tempted...I also have a set of 4" AG's that are destined for the Squire. They are like the ones on youre 2110. How does that old girl steer? Pro's, Cons? |

I love the AG's on the front. But my experience will be different than most. Since I use the mid mount grader blade for snow plowing duties I had them loaded to help dig in while turning. And they do great for that. They bite extremely well. Don't slide at all. The downside? It is hard to turn the wheel while parked or even at slow speeds. And they leave awesome tracks in the spring, however that is overshadowed by the loaded AG's in the rear! Those really sink in!
If the fronts weren't loaded I'm sure they would be easier to turn. But they bite really good. Also, I think it looks kinda mean with them...

Glad to see you running the old Sovereign, It seems the major problem with variables is keeping them from slipping in low range. My B210 does and I kind of like it, makes for a soft start.

| The 3212 is running great Larry, thanks for the manual, I tinkered with the vari-drive this weekend and even though it still slips it doesn't grind at all now. And yes, it is extremely smooth changing from reverse to forward ranges. Love the ride and manueverability. Plus this motor seems strong, even in the thick grass it never revs down, it just gets louder! :) Love it so far.... |

Mine, in teh past, simply wouldn't pull hills...which means I'm stuck inteh back yard, andhave to get another tractor to tow me up! It was almost like haveing a wet belt. On flat ground it worked well, and ran great. Worked good for tilling too!
I love the 30CI engines...never have had a bad one. My current sings just like Jon describes. Lots of grunt...looking forward to pushing snow too! |
