Well….we finally had some rain this past week, and my dead lawn greened up enough to give the Revitalizer a test run! Jon and I were able to meet up a couple weeks back and his wife thanked me for clearing up a bit of floor space in their garage =]

I wasn’t sure what to make of the rig at first, since it’s an RBT model, but it didn’t take long to recognize some familiar components. Since the unit is regulated by the RBT mid PTO engagement, I got to looking at my 990503 tiller engagement. With the pull of a couple spring clips, and a 1/2” nut, I had it switched over to Jon and I’s Revitalizer to make this a FDT unit! Works like a champ, and it shares rear PTO and belts with my tiller as well. It’s quite a smooth, quiet runner.

Here’s a look at the progress…I ran at ¾ throttle in 2nd gear, and it seemed just about right. Any slower, and you begin tilling the turf instead of simply opening it up a bit. My lawn is borderline junk, but you can tell where the thatch came up EASILY, and it opened the soil nicely too. I adjusted it per the instructions, with a ½” piece of wood under each wheel. One adjustment knob takes care of the whole thing. Very easy to use!

I gave it a wash after my test and tune, but will need some of Larry’s magic juice from Autozone to cut all the grease…the PO before the PO (Jon) certainly used enough lube! I’m looking to overseed and fertilize this fall, and I think this is the ticket!

Thanks Jon! =] Fun stuff, and great seat time ahead! Feel free to ‘borrow’ it any time!

I am so glad it works good Josh. I always get nervous selling anything to someone I know but since I didn't even get to try that out I just wanted it to be in good condition. Glad it was fairly straight forward to get hooked up to the FDT, too. Glad your putting it to use.... :)

Byron. I gave serious consideration to loading up your rock when I was at Larry's on the weekend. But I could only move it west and not south so I left it where it was. Dave.

It can however buy you a beer.
And that is close enough.

That looks like it works great! Gets all the dead grass up and all. I'll have to keep an eye out for one myself!
