No plans for the hitch at the moment, but at least now my disk harrows have a purpose.

Now to decide where to use it.

Now we're talkin! I'd like to have an FDT style sleeve hitch to get a more original look for shows next summer, but I think that style is more practical for use because you can add down pressure. I'd get yourself a small length of chain for plowing though....

If you are intending to use with plow no down pressure is warranted. If properly set up plow will take care of all down pressure needed. Be sure to back those tensenor bolts off or remove. .

Dave told me it had to swing freely, and when set properly it will maintain correct depth and plow straight on its own. So the tensioners are backed off and I will run it in float mode.

Larry, you may not have use for the plow but if you use it once you will be hooked and will be looking for ground to turn.

Definitely! I love to plow! Too dry here for fall plowing though. I would like to someday do a side by side comparison of plowing with a Brinley and a Simplicity plow. I have a feeling I know the outcome.

Hey Rob, do you put anything on your B110 for traction? B10Dave thought my B210 with weights and chains would work as well as anything.

Hey Phil, I very definitly have a use for the plow, I have had a garden most years and would have last, but I set my 36" tiller on my 7016-6 last spring which blew up after 30' and in front of a small crowd. :( I have 2 sets of disks to clean up after the plow, and I was thinking 12 x 30 or something to start, but if I want to sacrifise turf it can go up to 40 x 250 or so. The 210 also has roto-tiller so something will happen. :)

Larry, there is nothing like a seed bed prepared with a tiller but the plow goes a long way to take the stress off the tractor and tiller. Larry, you should have plenty of traction and if you hit some tough ground you can bump the hydraulics to increase the traction momentarily. I was able to break my heavy virgin clay soil with nothing more than ballisted turf tires. Only lost traction when I hit wrist sized buck wine ( trumpet vine) rhizomes. They would stop the plow like an arresting cable and could only be remedied with an axe. My B112 can easily pull the plow through heavy but previously broken soil with ATV tires and no added weight.

Thanks Phil, Good iformation. I anticapate tree roots are going to be a problem the first time. I think roots from hardwoods (AND Byrons rock) beat the heck out of tractor and roto-tiller both. I'm anticapating the plow, especially if I do a 2000 square foot garden will be much easier on the tractors.

Once I get around to plowing, there's never enough ground! Every several years, we'll have a corn field invaded by a specific type of vine (can't remember the name for sure...nightshade?)and we need to turn it under. One of these days it may get turned by a bunch of garden tractors! I would love to have a big gathering of you guys, but with Mom & Dad's ongoing health issues, I just don't have the time nor mind to put one together.
Larry could come down & bring that ROCK to Byron if I ever get to sponsor a plow day!
