Pictures are of the weld repairs I made to the heat shield/grill support bracket and headlight mounting panel on my Ford LGT-125. About half the welds shown are mine. It had been welded previously. The grill mounting ears were broken off the heat shield and it had multiple cracks.
Ford and Kohler engineering never cease to amaze me. You cannot weld the oil pan to the frame, bolt the grill to the frame & engine and expect it to survive all the vibration. Simplicity avoids the problem with the design of their hood/grill assembly.
Welds are shown from the bottom and are not pretty but should work awhile before the metal is shaken apart again.
Painted the parts with one coat of Extend and one coat of Rust-Oleum high temp BBQ black.
