I've never seen a sweeper I thought would hold up at any price, even in the $300-$400 range. then I came across this in great shape except for a little fraying on the catcher, for $150. I had to have it.

It is a Wikco Turf Groom Model 136. The Company is not only still in business, but still makes the same model here in the US. They also have a hitch to gang up 3 at a time.

I ran it around the front yard for 20 minuites, it seemed to have picked up most of the acorns and twigs along with the leaves. It filled the catcher up full 4 times. You dump it by pushing down on the lever you see on the left side. Opens kind of like a clam shell.

If you want one or more information:

Interesting piece of equipment that looks to be well built.
Not just something made of tin and wire. Sounds like a great find.
I think if I found one around here I would have to give it a try.

I do have a question though. If the Acorns are not picked up, do they cause
a problem later on?

The acorns are hard on my aluminum siding when launched from the mower, I've learned to watch that.

Holy cow! And I thought dog doodoo on the second story windows was bad. I'll bet those little bullets would go right through vinyl siding. Thanks for the heads up.

Wow ... That looks to be a really heavily built unit. Nice to see that something like that is still available. Great find!

Yeah Larry, I don't think I've ever seen a sweeper that was built as tough as that one! Good deal!
