well finally got into the bgb on the 2010 and this is what i found


this is after i cut the bolt and finally got the shaft to turn


the bolt that holds the pinion gear on backed out and welded itself to the cross shaft witch explains y the pinion shaft was turning and notthe drive shafts lol never would of thought id see that

Interesting. I need to get into rebuilding these. Understanding the correct tolerances and such. I have two machines or more down because of broken BGB's and two with broken axles. I have all the replacement parts to fix these, NO TIME.

freddie i have a second bgb from the vari drive i picked up the other night im going to try to put all good parts in the original bgb the new box has two broken bolt hole someone welded in so the first box is good and gears from second box im hoping i can save the short shaft im going to try and clean up that weld spot in the shop tomorrow . i think it will work fine nothing rides in that spot

I just got myself a spare bgb and tranny for the 7016. Figured I'm running on borrowed time and good luck! The "youngest" tractor I have is 34 years old!

well got a good look at the parts tonight ive got one good case two good gears and the pinion shaft with bearing is good the stock (short) shaft is worn were the bearing rides so its junk the needle and bearing on the other side are full of old gear so there junk as well so the shopping list is two bearings two seals and the shaft well get this thing together eventually

the long one freddie it the cross shaft thats worn bad the bearing wobbles on the shaft its so worn .i think the bearing was stuck at one point in time and the shaft was spinning inside it
