Not sure of condition yet but it comes with a blower and deck. I haven't seen much regarding these. Is it that they were only made 3 years or not good or popular? Thanks.

It is hard to know anything without knowing condition but since you are into those little tractors I would think you would be as expert in value as just about anyone here. I would tend to under value any of the lawn tractors.

I would not read anything into Simplicity's propensity to change model numbers.

sadly I'm not even an "expert" with the little tractors but hopefully getting there. And these are much earlier than I have dealt with.

I think you are doing the right thing sticking with a particular line. That way you learn the ends and outs or the models and you quickly learn what is interchangeable and what their strengths and weaknesses are.

For the record the Simplicity System 5010 with blower, snow blade, (chains and wheel weights) deck, and soft cover went for $350 at auction in central IL. I was out @ $300. Bought another Deutz-Allis 512H $90. Dead battery so not sure it ran but previous owner said it ran when they parked it years ago.

What little I have seen of the 5010 looks alot like the Broadmoor. Without seeing much I would think the Broadmoor 728 and the 5010 would have alot in common, other than a 10hp(?) in the 5010. If you can find the manuals for both compare part numbers, maybe there is a good amount of interchangeability.

I guess it's from the Broadmoor family, it said Broadmoor on the back of it.

Yeah, I think that is the last in the line of the original Broadmoor family before they went to the 4000 series small lawn tractor. Those can have a tiller and such used with them whereas the 4000 series could not. A small tractor, but built better than alot of the new stuff today. I have a 1963 6hp Broadmoor for my son and it routinely pulls around a 500lb roller behind it.
