Looks good Mike! I'm thinking of putting a rear light on my Allis. Looks like yours puts out plenty of light! |

Might be easier to build one, have you searched using google? Several companies out there, including PF Engineering |

ATF,
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Looks like about a '78 Sovereign 7016H with hydrostatic, rear lift and electric lift. Carlisle Tru Powers?
Real nice clean rear wheel weights.
I like the A/C seat and the red tail lights (I have blank spots where those lights used to be ).
The engine sounds tight and sweet too. |

Thanks, I think it a 1976 or 1977 Sovereign from the wheel stamp, but after digging further It may be a 1977 or 1978, I'll find out. The tires are actually 23x8.50-12 Deestones, 52.00 with tax. The lights are LED trailer marker lights 2.99 each at my trailer supply store. The wheel weights and the plow came with the Allis 716H but it's now a Lawn tractor and the Simplicity is the Garden tractor, I don't know how I decided that, I think it was sub conscientiously

Zeb, You and everyone else. Lots have to resort to finding a FEL for another tractor and modify it to fit the Allis. BTW, Zeb, welcome to the site. Please go to introductions and tell us something about yourself and tractor(s). Keep in mind we really, really like pictures. |

ATF,
I thought after I had posted that the tires look more like Carlisle Super Lugs than Tru Powers, which have more of a square shoulder. Your tires look like real good aggy lug tires at a price where you can actually afford to put them on.
You probably already know this, but if the engine has not been swapped out you can just read the date code on the engine tin to determine the year.
The numbers stamped on the engine tin are in three divisions, the model, type and code.
The first two digits of the model number indicate displacement. On the Briggs 16 that will be 32, indicating 32 cubic inch displacement. The next digit indicates the crankshaft/carburetor/governor, the next digit indicates lubrication method (splash) and the last indicates type of starter. This number shows pull start because Simplicity installed the S/G.
The middle series of number, indicating the type, you can ignore. These numbers indicate the pan type and castings which vary depending on whether the engine is used to power a water pump or a tractor.
The last number series, the "code" is actually the date code of engine build. The first two numbers indicate the year, the next two the month, the next two the day and the last digits indicate the plant where the engine was built.
There was not a lot of time between engine build and tractor build so the date code tells you the year and month the tractor was built with relative certainty.
As far as where the Model, Type, Code digits are stamped, they are right above the carb on FDTs. On your 7016H they are stamped right on the top of the tin. |

I've got those numbers, I'll cross reference with the wheel stamp and post here, Thanks for letting me know. I buy those Deestones and all my AG tires at a huge tire chain store in town, they match any internet price with no shipping charges. |
