has anyone tilled under there garden, well i meen the top of it l.o.l i'am waiting for the vid to upload, and when it dose i will post it. mn is done for the season, i could plant lettuce but i had alot of that early in the year.

My sweet corn rows are tilled and now I need to spread some horse puckie on the garden and plow that under. The only thing left out there is beets, pumpkins, and cucumbers. We almost have the roof done on the house and I sold my plane today so maybe next week I can get something done in the garden again if it doesn't rain.

yes i have the gear reduction pully, its a 10" thats the biggest i can get on there. i till in 1st gear and peddle it down when needed. the garden is 60x60 and then it shoots to the east 8x60 i was going to show the pully but i like to keep the vids to about 2mins
Here in Indiana I prefer to plow my garden in the fall, this lets the freeze of the winter break it down and also puts the fodder under. It makes it a lot easier to till in the spring.

Normally I Fall plow, but this year I will likely pass till Spring as my ground is so dry & hard, plus weeds took over once I finished harvest. I may go ahead & spray the weeds soon, so if they die down well, I'll bush hog them up and may Fall plow after all. That is if it ever rains! Many times I plow Fall & Spring, as I may apply calf stall cleanings during the winter.

I HAVE CHICKENS SO I USE THERE DROPINGS IN THE GARDEN, some say that is some of the best to use. i'am lucky to have such black dirt. but the pig weed gives me a run for the money. man that stuff is bad. use round up or what?
That soil is even darker than mine! I am needing to do major dirt work on my garden to get the water running OFF of it, this year showed me everywhere that has drainage problems. I have a small problem with pigweed, my BIG problem is grass we call "turkey's foot". That crap takes over my garden big time and once it gets a couple days on you it's hard to remove. Pigweed pulls easy and is gone, this stuff comes up again from any root left, and the roots rarely come with it! It seems it rained weeds this year, I have weeds in the pastures and my hayfield that I have not had before.
It's inspirational to see such a clean garden spot, kinda like a magazine article. Or, like the show I grew up watching on public TV, Victory Garden!
