I've gotten 8 or 9 tractors from Kansas, all 3of my Allis/Simplicity tractors, 2 Cub Cadets, and 4 Massey's, this one is perplexing me, I may just fix it up too

Perplexing? How? Is this the one you said was stored outside and dirty?
Careful, Mike; you might have a "talker" there. My 716 looked kinda ugly for a while; now, he looks good. I think he's getting used to me. He used to talk this kinda dark language; but I don't hear that anymore. Lately, I have been leaving him outside on nice nights; it's too crazy in the garage shuffling him and the other stuff. Once he had a light shower. Tonight I garaged him just ahead of a thunderstorm. I think he's finally settling in, and we are getting used to each other. He likes playing in the woods on the trails he made, and with his new trailer.
Did the early ones comes with white decks? I thought they were orange. There's 2 tractors pictured here with white decks. Repaints? From other tractors? |

I don't know for sure, a lot of people say no, but my other early model 716H came with a white deck that I believe to be original, the actual Allis brochure shows these early 716H with a white deck so I'd say that's the best indication that, YES they did. |

They came with white decks. Seems crazy to me as that's the worst color I can think of for something that drags on the ground and gets crud all over it.
That said, I have a spare 48" deck (orig. white) that I plan to strip and restore next spring, in the original white. Might install it on the show tractor. |

That also looks like the shallow deck that I have. I am ready to be corrected here but it seems at one point the Allis's came with shallow decks and simplicity stayed with the deeper decks. Mine is orange and is the 3 blade 42". The tractor itself was destroyed in an accident and I purchased the blower, tiller and deck so I'm not certain which model it was. I do know it was comparable to the Sovereign, Barron group of tractors. Similar to the 3414's. Interestingly they seem to still mow very nicely. Much better than my Bolens. |

It's just the angle of the picture/camera, it's the same as my 42 inch deck, I do think they got shallower later on with the 6200 series. |

The 300 and 400 series R"H discharge decks were quite shallow but still seemed to work fine. |
