A man just pulled out a allis 416 out by the road and put a sign that says "needs fuel pump but runs without. No attachments $130".... Looks like its in descent shape. And I also myself have a deck off of a 310 would that fit on a 416? So is it worth $130? Thanks Jesse.

Yep the cinch screw is on both the hydro, and variable.. You are correct though, i never use mine either. This may be why yours are not there, if you don't use them every now and again they seize up, and when you put a pair of vice-grips on them to loosen the thing up it snaps off.. I put anti-seize on the threads to prevent this problem..

Sammifish i disagree; All of my 300 series tractors have a parking brake...

huh, where is the parking brake on the hydro... maybe im completely
clueless...wouldnt surprise me

there is a parking brake on my manuals... a little screw thing on the
side by your foot you screw in to hold the brake after
you push the pedal down but I
dont recall that on the hydro... is it there???

I looked and I do see it in the manual on p D-17... hmmm...
Ill have to go look... for pete sakes Ive got 2 300 hydros out there...

I know the 400 does but its the cam thing
like what is found on simplicities

but... while it seems i am probably way wrong on the facts here...
I think my point is still OK as the hydro
works pretty good at stopping the wheels
I havent found a reason to use a parking brake ... YET...

now you got me wondering... Im gonna have to look sooner than later..

thanks for the heads up!!!

darn it now im probably the one looking for a reasonably priced
parking brake rod...

Its misssing the air filter cover, filter, and back plate. The brake is mickey moused with a piece of wire instead of the rod, but I'm sure I can make something. I will keep you posted as I go through it.

while Im not exactly sure as i haven't got my 416H going yet...
I can say that the 312H really doesn't need or require the brake at
all.... I dont use it... pulling the hydro lever to neutral is
brake.... also there is no parking brake on the 300 hydros...
I wouldnt sweat it ... If it were me I would just wait it out until I found the rod reasonably priced

I think if you look at the brake bands on any of these you will
find they are largely unused / unworn

Jesse? Hopefully you are too busy playing with that 416 to stop and tell us about it.

Go down and wake the guy and give him the money. It is worth every penny.

I looked at it close before it got dark. It seemed like it has been used here and there for pulling a trailer, beings it had a ball on the back. Manual lift. Original tires seem to be holding air and are in descent shape. The sheet metal looked very straight, little surface rust under the fenders and atop the hood but nothing major. I might pick it up on my way to work! Its in need of decals. Any suggestions on where I would find some?
