Guy I teach with has a 42" Simplicity dozer blade he has had in his barn since he bought the place...#9900795 / 990891. It is complete and in really good condition. He wants to sell it to me, but am not sure of a fair price to offer him. Since he is a friend of mine, I told him I didn't want to cheat him, nor over pay him.

Thanks Michael. I haven't had time to completely check out the site. The comprehensive guide is definitely good to go. I'm sure that will come in handy now that I know it is there. |

Well below is what I wrote in the comprehensive guide I started. If you didn't read this topic:

then, please give it a read. You could use my guide as a position to treating your friend well. If he's a friend perhaps he'll go down in price for you also. Now, what I noticed when I searched the Simplicity manuals for your MFG# was that the blade is for the lawn tractor class machines. I wrote the guide more based on the early B-Series/Landlord and Soveriegns, so it's all a swag. I'll further tell you I've seen the blades sold for as low as $25 and as high as $175. I think the differenciator was how clean or rare the brackets were. Time and realiability are worth a lot and if someone's going to use an attachment, it's worth $100-175 easily, so I could justify paying as much... If I was to use it.
