Posted - 07/02/2015 : 07:46:40 Well, I know it's been forever but I am still around! Unfortunately my 7016 has been nothing but problems this year and I have had to mow with my dad's Craftsmen tractor(I still mow my dad's 2 acres for him). It is amazing how mowing becomes a chore with something like that. It isn't comfortable and it doesn't mow well AT ALL. Well, I found a Sovereign within my limited budget and brought it home yesterday. More pics to follow after the first mow. My first hydro!

I had a lead on one with the Kohler OHC motor but I have read about so many issues with those I didn't want to chance it. Plus, it was quite a bit more as it was younger with fewer hours on it than the one I ended up getting. Hopefully this will provide years of good service, as it appears it was very well cared for. |

Posted - 07/21/2015 : 07:41:03 My 25hp Command in the Legacy's I had would drink 6 gallons in just a couple mowing, snowblowing or sweeping sessions. And I don't have a lot to mow & clear. I now have the 27hp Kawasaki and same tank, and I never quite believe the fuel gauge and have to peek in the tank to convince myself I STILL don't need fuel. It is ridiculously fuel efficient. I find the same with a 23hp Vanguard...sometimes I wonder if it MAKES gasoline.
But those Commands sure give great power, for a very, very long time. |

Posted - 07/20/2015 : 21:54:04 Phil, with the newer Sovereign I use almost the full 3 gallon tank in the tractor mowing my dads 2 acres in around 95 minutes, versus getting almost two mows of the same yard and same 3 gallon tank in my older 7016 repowered with the 30 CID Briggs. Plus it takes me just a tad longer to mow with the 7016. So I am using double the fuel I used to. That is my only complaint. But I am willing to put up with that! |

Posted - 07/16/2015 : 21:08:32 Well, I've been running my 916 with a K341 and it is much thirstier than my 32. CID Briggs. I haven't done any quant active tests but I must be refueling 2-3 times as often. When Sweet Allis is off the sick list I'll have to do some side by side testing. |

Posted - 07/04/2015 : 20:15:56 Holy cow! Just finished first mow and this thing is a beast. Love the hydro. A bit of a gas guzzler, but parts of the lawn hadnt been mowed in 2-3 weeks and it plowed through thick wet grass at times taller than the mower deck. This thing is impressive!! |

Posted - 07/04/2015 : 14:15:25 Excellent find! They are tough to leave, once you mow with one. All the bwst that Simplicity developed over the years, made better. |
