Posted - 07/20/2013 : 19:41:26 I was lookin through craigs this morning,,, and found these in an odd listing,, I contacted the nicest old gentleman and he hadn't had the first call in a couple weeks,, had them out in front of his place off and on for a month, no interest. I couldn't keep my excitment controled when he said "$300 ,,wife said to get rid of them". He was only about 40 minutes away too. Both engines started with first pull, no smoke, no rattles. Belts and tires is all they need,,,,,WOW !!!

Posted - 07/28/2013 : 21:36:41 As far as cutting, it has no problems, but the right one covers it pretty good with clippings. I didn't have the deck covers on yet,,kinda filled it up,,,lol. I'll probably put some kind of deflector on the right unit. |

Posted - 07/28/2013 : 19:38:18 Denny; does the left trailer cope well with the clippings from tractor deck? Looks OK in the vid but can't tell for sure....Dave |

Posted - 07/28/2013 : 09:01:40 Thanks for the video. Explains a lot about these. I could see someone with a big yard learning their lesson once maybe twice. Though the time savings, I think I'd figure out how to be careful. |

Posted - 07/27/2013 : 18:31:53 Yes Sir !!! And this little episode explains a lot, both mower deck mounts were twisted (before this) and it probably explains the gas tank and flywheel cover having been replaced on the one engine too,,plus the hitch was all messed up. |

Posted - 07/27/2013 : 15:30:09 Got my hitch all rebuilt
And, I also found out why there are NO hitches in existence, my wife just happened to be video taping as I was playing,,,, lesson #1, No sharp high gear turns !!! I just wanted to see how they tracked,, it's to wet to mow, otherwise I would of had them running. https://picasaweb.google.com/102046856354423757589/ALLIS#5905382482400588962

Posted - 07/25/2013 : 08:40:56 576 was a double V-belt drive deck. I'm guessing the trailing setup is not, or is it? Since the trailing mower option were post '67 price list, but present in the '69 price list (pre-double v-belt), I would think they would reference a 414 or 502 deck, not the 576 deck.
I'll hve to put some of my old catalogs to work...and I'd like to see if I have a '68 price list. Curious when thse appeared. |

Who knows, lol, just found this http://www.simpletractors.com/simplicity/price_lists/1969_prices_pg1.htm if you look down at 509,, it references the 576 decks (48"). I'm trying to talk our old dealer out of some of his old catalogs where I found the info I've got. He guards them like a hawk, lol I may just take the camera in and try taking some pics. Still can't find anything on the model #990475 that is on both frames. |
