Picked this up last month. It's been sitting on my mother in laws property the last few years not getting used and starting to rust and deteriorate into the ground. She asked what it would scrap for and my wife offered to buy it. So got the tractor, front blade and deck for $60.

Loaded on the trailer for the ride home...

After getting it home and cleaned up a little....

Running after sitting for a few years outside. Only runs with full choke. Click for video

After a lot of grinding and a bunch of paint

Just an update..Got the carb rebuilt and got it running pretty good. Starts with no choke now. Now just need to get the throttle cable stop from Mr. Osenga and it will be good to go I think. Need to sell some Deere stuff to pay for a new seat and a stack for it.

It's actually AC Orange. I got it at TSC. Made by Majik. It's orange for sure just might not show because I use the camera in my phone.

I like the red you're using. I have a 700 series which I want to do some painting to this winter. What color red were you using?

I think she knew I always secretly wanted it. Just thought it had a rugged look to it! Plus her mom could use the money so worked out for everyone.

Wow, your wife offered to buy the tractor...? Oh, nectar of the gods!

Thanks for the kinda words! I'm going to work on the deck next. I"m not sure it will get painted but will get cleaned and lubed and the blades sharpened. The Ags I picked up from my grampa as they were just sitting in the back of a truck. They are cracked pretty good but still hold air. I just like the looks of them over the turfs. Also thinking about a adding duals and new ags when the budget allows.

The paint is from TSC. Is Majik brand. Goes on pretty well but seems to take a while to harden. I'm going to let it sit out in the sun to see if that helps any. If not I'll strip it all down again and teach myself how to use a HVLP gun and hardeners and all that good stuff.

The wheel on the front PTO is actually the pullstart wheel off the BGB. I need to get another jam nut for it and some new screws to put the pulley back where it should be. Another thing to add to the list..

A pretty nice original....great save! Nice, straight steel and original AG's. The 42" bolt-together decks have a cool, vintage look, IMO. I've been mowing with one for the past month or so, and it's honestly the nicest cutter of any deck I've used. Spray bomb job looks real nice too! What paint is that?

I have seen similar, big wheels on the front PTO shaft, but never knew what that big thing was. Curious what it is and what it does? Is it just added weight, like a second flywheel?
