Posted - 01/20/2012 : 19:35:13 This is the tractor that was in the back of the garage when I took the group shot a week or two ago. I got it in the late summer. It wasn't perfect, but it's not bad. I had my last 'new' engine and set-up for power steering already, so all it cost me during the 'put together', was new hydraulic hoses, garage heat and time. The engine already had the perfect muffler on it and an added bonus of a factory oil cooler.
After many days of off and on, working on it I finally have it ready to clean and detail.
Nothing looks better than a shiney car, truck or in this case, blue tractor in white snow - 2".
The thing is ........... it looks like all the other 75th's. This one is #407 of 800 made.

Posted - 01/21/2012 : 10:43:35 You definately got it right. I have seen them with original time bomb engines that the seller though we're made of pure platinum. |

Posted - 01/21/2012 : 10:04:40 I agree. I never really liked them especially, but with the blown engine, being somewhat rare, and ......... the price was right. I just got it cuz it was in good condition, hydro, hydrolift. It's just a purdy. If/when I ever sell it, either that engine won't go with it, or somebody will have to pay dearly.
I also agree with the paint color. Even when it isn't used, it shows dust and dirt easily. If you use it for anything .......... it's gonna get dirty. I may get tired of it sitting around getting dirty, scuffed, and cats dipping their feet in mud puddles then making a bee line to the tractors to do a dance. That last one about cats happens all the time on our trucks and car. |

Posted - 01/21/2012 : 09:04:09 Mighty nice looking tractor. That said, I have always found the 75 th anniversary to be an odd bird. Though it is a nice looking tractor, if I had been on the design team I am not sure I would have picked blue as the base color being that the products that made their name in the industry were red orange and the hooded headlights though very nice just seem to be a bit out of place on 7100 sheet metal. I still would like to have one. |

Posted - 01/20/2012 : 22:11:00 I looked at one of these, but the dealer wanted too much for a tractor with an engine problem. Very nice repair and restoration to running. I'd want one of those one day. |
