Posted - 12/24/2011 : 00:13:31 I've been getting parts together for this one for a while now, after trying out different series and reading posts of other's expieriences of weak points on these machines I am putting together what I hope will be my next favorite tractor. It will be a worker and not for show so the paint job is totally bottom shelf. Only reason it's getting paint is to make all the different parts look "decent" together.
At the point I took these pics there were parts from 5 different tractors, how many you spot? Some are easier than others.
No other foot draggers are close to opporational here and the only blades I have are for foot draggers so this one needs to get to working before too much snow flies! Spent last Saturday afternoon hooking up the driveshaft, clutch, and brake linkage, that was fun. Had to do a mix and match of parts to make it work right, so far no parts have been modified, but that won't last. The sheet metal will require a bit of imagination but not much. I enjoy putting together things like this, keeps the brain from gathering dust. |

Posted - 08/07/2012 : 22:34:54 Holy procrastination Batman! I didn't realize how long it had been since doing any thing to this thing til I went looking for the original post to add to! Such a slacker I am, well, not really, just too many projects too little time, too little attention span! But it now runs!!!! And moves!!!! And plows!!! It had been far too long since I had driven a foot dragger, I had forgotten the feeling that they give me that bit me and made me the devout AC/Simplicity nut that I am today. I love this thing, such a solid feel, such a feeling of power, just makes me want to pin on the 10" and plow up the farm! For now my newly cobbled attachment will have to do, more on that in a seperate post. And no, it is certainly not done. I doubt it ever will be truly. Got a few ideas yet to be tried, and lots of field testing.

I do too! Those tri-ribs do make steering easier and turn well in loose soil. And those 23x10.50 Goodyears have pulled my 10" Simplicity plow in sod without weights with minimal slippage. |

Posted - 02/06/2012 : 00:00:37 I had a fencing project, a horse shelter and some wood cutting in between but I am finally back to it. Bombed some paint on the footrest and firewall this afternoon and put on the oft lever. At this sad rate it might be done by spring! I sure am glad we haven't had any significant snows! |

Posted - 12/26/2011 : 12:32:58 Sharp eye Josh! The rear is 7000 series, BGB 3400 series. They are what came to me, the BGB is the tightest I have ever had, seems new. I used these two to eliminate the weaker diff in the B-series and use a BGB with the heavier shafts. The frame is from a parts B-210 to eliminate the weak welds at the BGB flange of the early B-series. The engine is a 32 cube from a Gilson MW, same engine I've plowed snow with the last two years. The steering gears, rear lift, side plates, and clutch setup are early B-10 to keep the short wheelbase.
I will be using the hood and dash from the early B-10, not sure on the seat deck just yet, that will come last. Not sure I will get to do much to it this week, had a couple other things drop in my way. |

Posted - 12/24/2011 : 07:24:53 Tranny and bgb are out of a later rbt, but with a round hood fdt seatpan support and rear lift. Rear rims are 10.5 and the frame looks to be 200 series (from a flathood at the very least)...engine wasnt originally in a fdt either, but I cant see it all that well. Im not sure when they began adding the front rims with the holes for weights....only machine Ive had with them is the '70 3212.
