Posted - 11/24/2011 : 14:04:31 after snow blowing my driveway with my b10 for three hours i wend to shut it down and heard a loud pop and clanking noise,when i took the hood off i found the spark plug not connected just hanging,well the problem is that the threads are stripped inside the head what do you guys think the best way to fix it if it can be fixed,thanks nick |

"self" fix's as well! napa made some nice sizes and sells refill kits to boot! on a side note... they work equally well to repair stripped out and damaged aluminum oil pans as well.. god bless the inept do-it-to-yourselfers..lol |

Posted - 11/25/2011 : 18:47:14 there are two kinds of thread repair kits out there one that looks like a spring and one that is solid with threads inside and out this is the beast for spark plugs |

Posted - 11/24/2011 : 19:15:44 make sure if you use a heli-coil that you let it seal up for around 24 hours depending on the sealer you use before trying to start it. |

Take the head off. You don't want any cuttings to get into the conmbustion chamber. |

I have a head from the original engine out of my BIG TEN, since thats about all thats left of it I dont really need it. PM me if interested.

Posted - 11/24/2011 : 14:12:50 Threads can be realigned with something like a thread follower. If too badly damaged, should be able to procure a replacement head from eBay. |
