I had to drag my 74 out today, literally. The BGB was making noise. Fortunatley it was just a little low on grease and topping it off quieted the old girls right down. GAve her a bath and since the other 2 favorites were out and clean, took a few picture.

My favorite of the three?? Take a guess.

The two RBT's have been in the family since new. I have ran and done the maintenmance on the 74 in the middle for 36 years now.

The 3212H is a recent acquisition, I knew where it was for months and eventually "Just HAD To HAVE IT!!!!"

I also have decent running 3012V & 3415S, a 7016-6 needs engine overhaul, and a second 3212H currently getting sandblasted... Out on Sovereign row. :)

The Vickers has more "gumption" than the Sundstrand, and has a pair of 1/2" ports. The power steering tractors use 3/8 hose instead of the 1/4" steel lines to get more flow.

More interesting info! Don't the powersteering units drive on the hydro pump as well? Would the Vickers have the gumption to drive that steering cylinder? =]

No, the electric lift has full power up and down, the reason for no down pressure on the RBT rear lift is due to the solid bar the fdt's used for the rear lift being replaced by a cable. Thats why I put an RBT 'reciever on my B210 for the sleeve hitch. correct and easy hookup and down pressure

Some say the electric llift is the most powerfull of the three. All I can say is I have never had any power issues with any of them, and that IMO Simplicity's first power lift was also the best.

Note: Power lift on the 7000 and later tractors take hydraulic pressure off the Sundstrand hydros charge pump, are slower, and don't work with the tractor declutched.

Interesting to know...I've never used an electric lift system, and was curious how they compared. It is my understanding that use for applying downpressure went away as well, correct?

The Sovereign 3212H is the King of the foot draggers. I like the 16 horse and cone clutch on the 3416H, and while the CH18 doesn't have the torque of the old Briggs 16, it is sure sweet and smooth running engine.

The 3212H's hydrolift is faster than either the electric on the 3416H or hydraulic on the Sovereign 18, and niether has a float function either. The electric works without the engine running which is real handy swapping attachments, and the hydraulic on the late model has to have an operator in the seat, well, it USED too. :)

Nice representation of several generations of Sovy's! Beautiful machines, as always Larry!
