Posted - 07/02/2011 : 12:16:14 I know I posted on here at one time how I got started in these tractors, but it wasn't in the recently resurrected post on how you got your start. Will have to do some searching. Anyway, we were going through some old pictures of mom's over at the farm and i found this one from May of 1964 on my pride and joy 725, which still resides down in the barn. Will have to get it out and give it a tuneup some day. It still has the round top tiller mounted to it from the last time dad used it.

What more could a young man have asked for? A fine tractor, a loyal dog, and a paint pony, looks like a fine scene!
Thanks! Your comments got me to thinking, since it is the 4th of July weekend, that is the kind of Americana I grew up with and learned to love. The "simple" things. On the farm we worked hard and played hard, made the most of what we had, and didn't worry our lives away about what we didn't have. I was truly blessed! Thanks for making me realize it again. |

Thanks guys!
Yes those are steel wheels. I don't know what ever happened to the cart, but he made it from an old feed cart we had.
I don't know if he modified it or it was like that when we got it, but you will notice an extra piece added in the front axle to raise the front. Not sure what the reasoning was, but it didn't effect the mowing any. It always mowed smooth and level. |
