Posted - 06/14/2011 : 21:05:00 I was inspired by Larry's picture so I dug everything that runs out of the barn. I only found 1 dead battery and I got to play with the sickle bar doing some trimming in the ditch in front of the house. I just got the 4040 together with a spare 19.5 hp Onan. I thought it would take a couple weekends. Turns out it took a couple months. There were more things wrong with it, and missing then I thought.

Posted - 06/19/2011 : 07:26:13 I've never tried the power broom on snow. I have used it to rake leaves and it does a good job with that. The unit is driven off of the front pto. It had it's own mounting and used an electric actuator for the lifting. Instead I made up a new mounting so that it attaches the same way as a snow blower. That way I can use the hydraulic lift which is much faster than the electric lift. I plan to add power angle to it some day. I ran the needed second set of lines on that tractor when I first got it and had the motor out of it. |

Have you tried to broom the snow? Grasshopper says there broom will handle up to 8" of snow.
Is your operated by hydrolics or pto belt? |

Posted - 06/16/2011 : 10:31:37 The power broom has come in handy in more ways than I first thought possible. The driveway at the farm is gravel and with the first snow fall you always want to plow the snow back enough so there is room for the next snow. No matter how careful I am I Inevitably end up with gravel in the lawn. The power broom does a nice job of getting the gravel back out of the grass and onto the driveway. |

Posted - 06/15/2011 : 22:54:48 Now, A trencher would make me almost jealous, but luckily I just found a weed cutter. So I'm immune for the moment.
Nice collection, I dont think I've seen a better lineup of Powr' Max tractors. |

Posted - 06/15/2011 : 21:56:17 Well I did actually take a picture of each tractor. In order to keep track of maintenance and work on the tractors I put together a spreadsheet with a picture of each tractor on the top of each work sheet. I live near Milwaukee and in addition to finding tractors in Wisconsin I've been to Illinois, Minnesota, Arkansas, Ohio and South Carolina to pick up tractors. Add Pennsylvania and New York for implements. My pickup truck is my shopping cart and Ebay and Craiglist are my stores.
