Finally was able to jump at the chance to pickup a deal. I'm even getting more support from the Mrs!

I picked up a package deal consisting of a motor-less 725, a completely restored and gorgeous 101, and the trailer I brought them home on. The PO is moving out of state and was so gracious I'm actually feeling a bit guilty. I've had times where picking up a tractor meant a twinge of regret, or doubt, but NOT TODAY!

The 101...lots of little things...NOS BGB, New trans gears, Low speed pulley, original front lights, wheel weights, chains, stinger, new (beautiful) restoration paint job, original Briggs that runs great, and a 12v conversion and electric front clutch. Not to mention a restored and repainted blower, and a rebuilt 42" deck. I'm drooling over this one! It even has all the original hood srew/knobby things.

The 725...dual wheels (not ariginal adapters), no rust, fresh trans but missing the Briggs. PO says it threw a rod, and aeverything is there to hook up a repower and go.

Trailer...5'x14', nice diamond place nose cover and splash guard, 2100# torsion axle and 15" wheels. Dovetail with ramps. New wiring, lights and wood in 2010. A PERFECT tractor-chaser and Monster Cart mover.

AND...the goods...I wasn't expecting more, but this guy gave me a 55gal lawn roller, a 175# towable spreader (new), extra landlord hoods, fenders, random body panels, extra set of rims and tires, 3 rebuilt generator/starters, seats, center PTO's, pulleys and belts of all shapes and sizes, rear hitches, more wheel weights, and who knows what else. He was literally loading milk crates full of parts into my truck. I had my back seat full, and the bed overflowing. I don't even know what I have out there!

He even gave me a ball hitch for my truck, since the trailer has an 1 7/8", and I didn't have one with me. He was a great guy, and I wished him and his family luck, as he hit the road for a new job.

I hit a parking lot on the way home so I could snap a couple pics, but I'll have to dig into this more tomorrow and post some more. In all, it was a GREAT day!

Nice tractors. I like that 725. I have one like that with an engine, but the BGB is out of commission.

Looks like you made out like a bandit! I can only imagine your enthusiasm. And the Mrs. like it too!!! If I brought that much home I'd be sleeping on that trailer.

Another suprise....the 101 has been repowered. She has a 325431 in her...mid 70's 15horse, correct? I know Larry runs a 326431 in his 3416H, and Im thinking they are nearly the same engine. Any feedback on this engine, or the synco's in general?

Anyone know if my carb kit for a 12hp briggs will work on the 15hp carb? Im going to rebuild tomorrow if it does. =]

Talntedmrgreen Posted - 02/12/2011 : 12:36:59
All kinds of parts! 3 generators (Im told they all work!), various pto's, a couple carbs, panels of all sorts, steering links, and on and on...

Very nice haul!
Talntedmrgreen Posted - 02/10/2011 : 10:34:41
The engine has not been touched, so I'm told, but the generator is grey/silver. I think it looks sharp, but need to look closer (in the daylight) to tell exactly what was done to it.

I'm just trying to work my way up to a loader...(Wes!) What I would have given for one after the Groundhog's Day Dump!

I already have a friend's wife who has contacted me to look at the 101 as a birthday present for my buddy. That's love...but it would break my heart.

Yeah...they were on ebay, but they were local-ish and I just like to talk to these guys when they're selling. Turns out he was moving, and actually wanted the stuff gone ASAP. He was quite the Simplicity guy, as was his father and his brother and kids. Notice the 2x4 blocks on the pedals...those were for the kids, so it did tugg at my setimental side to see him sell stuff he loved. He had a son in the house who was locked in his bedrrom because someone was taking 'his' tractor.

I'll have to do some digging when our heat wave hits this coming week. Last nite it was 4 degrees, so I didn't spend much time drooling for fear it would freeze on my face. I'm thrilled about the trailer..it's NICE. I was suprised how nice it was, and I have a tough time gettingmy hands on one to borrow when a deal pops up.

We'll see about the casino...thinking of stopping by for some food in the 24 hr foodcourt around 4am Sat morning, after an all-nite coyote hunt. We'll be quite the sight in our snowcamo. That place has been packed everyday, and it isn't even open to the public till Friday! Will be interesting to see the inside. They've hired over 700 folks, most locals, and most previously unemployed, so they say.

Wow! What a haul! With that kind of luck you might consider a trip to the new casino up there.

Let us know when you get all of those treasure chests opened and inventoried. If you want to get rid of one of those extra center pto's, I know where there is a B110 in need of one.

Nice haul! Always makes it better to make a deal with a good person, gives you something else to take away from it. I am definitely envious of the 725, would love to have one!

Those were on eBay, right? I'm sure I saw those. Thought about bidding, but at least they are going to a good home!
