Yes, it opens easier but you won't loose it going down the highway. The hood locks over center and you adjust the tension by loosening the cap screws at the bottom of the grill assembly and rocking it fore and aft.
Yours may not want to tip forward without damaging the grill because of the severe damage to the leading edge of the hood.

Chris, you lift straight up front and back then tilt to the front. Much easier than rest of the B's. Dave.

How does the hood on the B1 open? Is it any easier than the rest of the B series with the 4 thumb screws?

Good for you freddie, glad to see someone standing on principal and not backing down.

plow snow this winter, will straighten the hood and grill later. The paint is pretty thin so it will get painted.

That is a great find! I wish I'd have picked mine up for that kind of price. What are your plans for it?

What a bargain! The only one i've had the chance to purchase didn't run, rough as a cob, and wrong engine went for $150! Nicely done.

Good deal on that B1. It took me years to find one and it cost me $100 or so, no weights and not running... yet.
