PO did a LOT on this, converted to 12 volt coil ignition, replaced original engine with 14 hp, Found a larger transmission pulley to slow it down, then found a hi/lo and mostly rebuilt it including making new nylon pieces which just need the slot cut in them, collected spare belts for EVERYTHING, and collected manuals for everything and put them all together in a binder including his notes.
Has all the missing parts except the front PTO pulley, 46" Sickle bar mower, 46" remote angle dozer blade, 42" mower deck, 36" 3 pulley snow thrower, Hi/Lo setup, homemade stinger with weights, tire chains and more.
Pretty much everything is in a good state of maintenance, including the battery which ran it up the loading ramps on the S/G, and still has a good charge.
He blew the original engine bad, replaced it, and promptly blew the head gasket on the 14 hp, got discouraged, bought an old Ford GT??, and lately his wife had been harrassing him about that "Lawn Ornament" She probably desrved a kiss, but you can only pay so much....

Was that retro massey actually the new Ford 8N Boomer? it's the retro model 8n ford has out, I didn't know Massey had a retro model out, but I'd have say it would have to be their model 35 or 135. |

It is much the same here in LA. There were only a handful of AC dealers scattered across the state. There were less than twenty in my dad's entire block that included north Louisiana, southern Arkansas and north western Mississippi. A flash of rusty orange in the field will definitely turn my head. |

Beleive it or not, this Big 10 is the first AC garden tractor I've seen in person. Loved the B series seat design since the first picture I saw though. Simplicity, especially their walk behind snowblowers are everywhere around here, and I grew up with Simplicity and have run them my entire life. I used to think rollers were standard mower deck design...
Even he AG equipment around here lacks AC, the names I see all the time are Ford, New Holland, Massey, and Deere. I saw a small Massey Furgusen 4 wheel drive "retro" farm tractor recently modeled to look like the old Ford 9N/Golden Jubilee... I want one! (I'm sure I wouldn't want to PAY for it though.) |

The mower deck looks like it's hardly been used, the bottom was dry and bare so I sprayed some oil on it. The snowthrower has original paint on the scraper and not a scratch either, the plow doesn't have a ding in it, the BGB and steering are as tight as they come, I dont know enough about sickle bar mowers in general or this one in particular to say much other than it's all there and if you turn the pulley the cutters go back and forth, the grill for 45 years old is nothing short of amazing. The more I look at it the more I'm impressed. |

I believe there were a number of years the chrome bezel was used and then the lights went to an all black bezel. I have an original 725 with the chrome bezels (switches on the back) and then a 3112H with chrome bezels which I think were a dealer addition (I think they don't have the switches, need to look). I was told that some dealers may have had the chrome bezels in stock for later year tractors and that is how that happened.

The headlights and the 2 chrome pieces that go on the sides of the grill look like they have been painted silver, haven't had a chance to see whats really up with them yet, |

Just out of curiosity.....were the chrome headlights an option? I have seen a few machines with them on, but 98% of them have that I have seen the black Guide lights. Just wondering...... |
