Posted - 11/29/2010 : 23:03:25 Chris, Will do. I dig out stumps and fixed some drainage so far, I seem to always need to dig. Otherwise, the BH6000 Woods looks like the right fit for a PowerMax, but you could go a little bigger. There was backhoe for $3500 and $4400; a little sweet for my budget right now. I haven't found the weight of the BH6500/7500 which are 6.5' and 7.5' trenchers. |

Posted - 11/29/2010 : 20:31:47 I have always wanted to try running a backhoe. Every time I get a chance there are spectators and that I don't need. When you get started on your backhoe project Michael you will have to keep us updated. Sounds like fun. |

Posted - 11/29/2010 : 19:47:17 I am actually looking to use the specifications of the Brantly Backhoe which was made for the PowerMax and look at buying either the same capacity Kwik-Way or Woods Backhoe attachment. The frame looks as difficult (or easy to some) as the loader subframe.
Also notice that the Brantly is 490 lbs and the Kwikway XL Series is 690 lbs (with mount). The Brantly may have been measured without the mount, but I doubt the mount is 200 lbs.

If anyone visiting the site has a Brantley, I'd like to get some specifications and will draw up diagrams. |

Posted - 11/29/2010 : 19:23:46 As I watched the video I said, "I want one! I could really plant bulbs with that!". My wife (who was sitting nearby) laughed at me, I said "You know I would find every excuse to use it if I had it, spring time pepper plants would be fast!". She knows I buy machinery to use, not look at, it's gotta earn it's keep! |
