6-12 ag tires about 60-70 lbs a piece filled with antifreze with chains or whithout?
or 6-12 turf tires with chains which is what was used last year without a problem
which do you perfer alos post pics of your snow removal equptment (pickups welcome!)

I plowed with my tractor 3 years ago before I took it apart. It worked well, but the piles of garbage it left behind wasn't desirable.

I plow in the winter (when able to sneak away from my pencil pushing job - I'm an accountant) commerically for a friend - 40 accounts +/-. We have 3 pickups, an aluminum body dump, a Kubota with a 8' snow box, and a skid steer with a 6' snow box. We have the power to move any possible amount of snow. But like Freddie and Chris said, the plows - of any size - leave behind a huge mess. Not to mention the busted up curbs.

Hopefully will be going with a 3212H and blower this weekend.

I used to push snow with the blade on my Jeep. But like Freddie says " I gets piles" and once it's piled it gets as hard as a rock. A couple of years ago I started using a garden tractor with a blower and the yard is much less of a mess in the spring. I can get into the garden almost a month sooner because there a no snow banks there anymore. I've used a tractor and loader, Jeep and snow plow, but my vote goes to the blower.

3414H your young. yes you get paid from the people you plow, but who's there in the spring picking up the mess. no disrespect, but congrats on finding winter jobs. but the pencil pushers you talk about make 50k to 100k a year. you will find out what its all about when you own your own home.

I'm a pencil pusher... it pays for the tractors.

Yes you do. Plus with my gravel drive I end up picking up hundreds of stones in the lawn that I plow in there with the snow. Of course, at least I'm not making artillery out of them with a blower! I can't win!

its not so much moving it, but where to. you run out of room fast.

lmao, i work smarter, not harder. i used to plow, but then in the spring you have piles of dirt and snow untill june around here, and winter is long enough. with a plow you can only go so high, with a blower you can put it were you want it. all over the place.

Very good point....being a southerner I would never have thought of such a thing. I just considered that if you had a very heavy snow you could not move it with a plow.

I've never used any weight...just chains on the turfs and the 42" dozer. It pushes deep stuff like a dream. I'm thinking this year, with the 46" I'll pull the wheel weights from the 3012 and try them on my B110. Still not sure on that trip-blade...I might lock it out with a chain or ratchet strap. I need to bust up the ice and scrape down to concrete at least once a week or my drive will be a 4" thick ice rink after just a few days of lake effect. It snows here nearly every day....

Just got my new AGs ready and new 2-link chains. Also have homemade solid lead weights... I am thinking I'll do really well with the 716H this winter.

Only regret is I haven't done anything to improve steering traction.
freddie Posted - 10/31/2010 : 13:57:52
on the b110 i run 200lbs of weight in the wheels and 50lbs on the rear lift. the tires are stock terfsavers with chains. the rear lift helps counter balance the snow blower for easy lifting.

Nice looking outfit. I have never had the urge to own an FDT but I enjoy looking at them.
