I picked up this "65 101 from a nice guy down the street tonight. He parked it a few years ago when his wife bought him a new one for Christmas.I guess she thought shiny was better LOL!It's a clean/straight original.Shouldn't take much to get her going. He said it worked great when he parked it.

I just found it in Eastern Ct. (Haddam) 23D 9 hp. $100 or trade for Simplicity attachments. Hmmm, you do have attachments right?

If that's a 9 hp there is one for sale on Craigslist for $100. It was either in Eastern, Ct. or Hartford and listed today.

Tank was clean, lightning bolt spark but no compression.I pulled the head off and the piston doesn't move!!!Looks like the rod is snapped. The bore is clean, not rusty at all.Always something....

Those 101's are really punchy! I had one which I sold off early in my hobby. I demonstrated it to the buyer by wacking through weeds, dozing some of my yard and parked it in front of him. Asked him if he wanted to try it. He said "I'll take it." He was happy, I was happy. He didn't even try it.

I did some cleanup, with a shop vac and air compressor.I removed all the leaf, pine needles, bird crap and other stuff that was in it.The tank is clean and it has brite blue spark, shouldn't take much to get her going.I had a factory set of lights(with bar)laying around so i tossed that on.I have some factory weights with matchina patina i'm gonna put on next!Looks MUCH better already .
