A piece of 1/2" plate. small 1500 pound winch. Used it a lot, including lifting tractor off the ground with no problem. Also replaced the hinge bolts with grade 8's
I was a little skeptical at first but the back of the fender/seat pan is pretty rugged right in the center. Been on there 6 years now.
Of course with my 270 pound "butt" holding things down...

Honestly I think that AC changed the model numbers, to keep from hurting the sales numbers at Simplicity, when they closed the Lexington plant, dropped the 400 series and introduced their "all new" 700 series. AC had a brand new tractor and also Simplicity even though they were basically spiffed up 3400 series. That is just speculation but the merging of the AC & Simplicity Mfg numbering system into the new 169xxxxx sequence in 1974 kinda supports my theory. As for the power plants generally speaking AC used Kohler from the 300 series forward and Simplicity used Briggs. There are a few exceptions but the 3400 series isn't one of them. |

Hey, My 3416H... 16HP B&S + Vickers Hydro AWESOME!!! As far as I know the 3414 had a Briggs too.

That makes me feel better, I looked and looked, couldn't really see any difference, started wondering about eyesight and mental terpidtude. Why did they change the numbers? was there a 3416? did the 3414 have a 14hp kohler or briggs? |

Biggest difference is the series number change, badging decals. The 7000 series was introduced in mid-late 1974 along with the AC 700 series when the 8-9 year old Federal Antitrust Lawsuit against AC was set aside by the Nixon administration. There are some changes in the PTO cone clutch. There are more changes within the 7000 series than there are going from 3400 to 7000 series. the 3400 Series Hydros had a Vickers transmission while most 7000 series had the Sunstrand. Since Simplicity large frame is pretty much a modular system, I would say 90+% of the parts or components are interchangeable or easily modified to fit. |
