Posted - 05/10/2010 : 05:47:57 I mowed with it this weekend, I was very impressed!
I need to do a little carb cleaning, but nothing big just spring startup stuff.
It rides so smooth and cut some very heavy grass in one pass, I sure think it is a keeper.

Posted - 05/07/2010 : 15:02:02 My only complaint about the 4200 series is the lack of full rear rollers on the mower deck for striping, but after I mowed with the 4208 the first time, I was amazed at how level and nice the cut was. I have always had the deep decks and full roller striping and was quite skeptical about how this would mow. I now prefer it for the front and back house yards, but still use the bigger ones for the big yards out front and down by the creek.
If I had an 11 or 12 hp instead of the little 8 hp, I would try using a 42" deck from the 6000 series which has full rollers. Just afraid it would be too much for my little 4208.
One use really changed my mind on these little tractors. |

Posted - 05/07/2010 : 13:32:53 I've said it before, these 25-30 year old machines are better than the newer stuff. I like mowing with my 4211 even though it "only" has a 36inch deck, it is very manuverable yet still cuts evenly gets the job done on not too much gas. My 60's Landlords get it done much quicker, but use more fuel and can be a headache getting around all the stuff in the yard for the kids! |
