Posted - 04/25/2011 : 10:20:22 My father in law gave me his 1986 T17 basstracker as a christmas present. Needs very little. 50 HP motor, electric anchor, and automatic oiler are some of the features. If all goes well my family and I will have this out on the lake soon.

Posted - 04/27/2011 : 09:42:11 I always thought that the safest way was to mix in your carry can at the gas station.ie:put the right amount of oil in the empty can and fill it up watching the pump numbers,Alternate two cans and you never have to wonder what your'e dumping in!!! $.02 |

Posted - 04/26/2011 : 23:25:28 I heard that the best thing to do is to keep oil in the injection tank but rig it up so its always feeding only idle quantities...most of them run off of throttle linkage so disable that and fix it to lowest position...and then mix your gas
I cant remember why my dad said that but I think its bad to run the injection pump empty because of gears or something |

Posted - 04/25/2011 : 23:33:46 A guy I worked with added oil to the same gas tank twice. Needles to say when he got to the one with no oil his engine got an overhaul. Murphy strikes again!
Nice outfit by the way. I hope the fish are biting as the kids will always remember that.

Posted - 04/25/2011 : 12:55:10 Yeah my dad was saying the same, he owns a 1996 basstracker and he has to do that. Probably a better option to go with. |

Posted - 04/25/2011 : 12:49:06 I know a number of folks that add oil directly to the gas rather than trusting the oil injection system. |
