Hi all, I just thought I'd share this idea with you and ask if anyone's made anything like it and whether it worked ok. It's only a prototype and nowhere near finished but you can see the general idea of it. The bucket's a 44 gal drum cut in half and one side inserted in the other and it'll have a steel frame all around to strengthen it. I intend to use the lever that raises and lowers the mowing deck via a rod or length of flat steel to operate the bucket. It's not going to be used for anything heavy like wet dirt, just maybe leaves, firewood and mulch. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks :)

SallyMac, I'd consider looking at the shapes which Sears or the Johnny Bucket used on their lift buckets. Their design is tested and you may get some angles and ideas from those. There are many ideas out there, Roy did something interesting adding to a plow blade.
