Hello anyone who knows about Tecumseh carburetors. I can't get mine to stop leaking. I will post a picture as soon as I can. You can email me at rockndb@gmail.com or reply to this posting.

Thanx,
Tractorpuller101

I was replying to Dan's comment right above mine. I think you've since started the post on mounting tires. Over the holidays and into January (more Jan), you'll see me trying to do some organization to the site. It's just busy these days for me.

With the carb having been flooding, your spark plug is likely fuel fouled. Put in a new spark plug & give a try. If it doesn't fire, spray a short burst of aerosol carb cleaner into the carb throat & quickly attempt to start. If she fire, then you still have a carb issue most likely. To check spark, leave plug out with wire connected with plug base against head...away from plug hole. If no sparky, you have electric issues.

Just a follow up it turns out that the bowl was mis bent and unadjusted. I had it serviced and sold iy about 3 or 4 months ago. Thanx again for your help!

P.S. Do you already have a forum on the best way to get a tire back on its rim?

You forgot compression.

I've activated the following topic I've worked on:

http://www.michaelstractors.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=64

Go to the last link and read "Determining why it won't start"... the writer describes the "FAST Method" which is to check:

1. Fuel
2. Air
3. Spark
4. Timing

Good luck. Let us know how your project turns out.

So are you suggesting that I squirt some gas in the cylinder and put the spark plug in to try to get a kick out of the engine?
I think its getting spark because i took the plug out and it sounded a lot different.
B112 Posted - 05/07/2007 : 06:29:13
These might be silly questions, but are you both getting gas in the engine and getting a spark? Is the engine even giving a kick? I've found that as long as you have electrical working, if you can get gas in the carburator the engine will give a kick. If you have a gas supply problem on the gas, the engine kicks but will not keep going.

Thank you so much Michael. I found a PDF manual on one of the links you left. I think I found the problem!! I think my needle was upside down!

Here's an article on your carb adjustment:

http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/lmower/msg0321430015229.html

This page cross references a bunch of engines (says your engine is 7hp):

http://home.gwi.net/~spectrum/snowengines.html

This page says your engine is a 6hp:

http://www.perr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4238&sid=f92b38a24503723e8deae41c0b5564ac

I recommend the last forum for engine info, as the owner runs it like or for school on small engine rebuiling.
