I just spent a little over an hour removing the mower from my "new" Kubota. What a job! Now I know why they call our favorite tractor on this sight Simplicity. First the carriage and lifting mechanism is crazy. Then the darn prop shaft spline was frozen onto the u-joint. Lots of beating and cussing. I finally got the stupid thing loose and out from under the tractor but by then I was too worn out to investigate the undercarriage of the tractor to see how it works and what needs to be fixed or adjusted. I have noticed that on the front end of the lift mechanism there are two "hooks" that appear to me must be to support the front edge of the mower but nothing was hooked over them and the front attachment links seem to give no support at all to the front of the mower. Does any one have any picture of what the mower attachment is supposed to look like?
THIS IS the mower off my tractor and there does not seem to be any way to lift or support the front of the mower

You can see that the shop built mower is built like a Rome Plow. Maybe I should just remove the blades and guide wheels and drag it around as a grader blade. I looks like to me that the drive belt is riding upside down in the sheaves.

Sense there is no thought given to rear attachments I was wondering what use the tractor is with the crapo mower removed.

Even the drawbar plate is so thin it bends under the load of pulling a trailer. (note the bent over 2" Ball)

I haven't yet figured out how to remove the fiberglass rear cowling and fenders. Even gaining access to the tranny dip stick is a minor mechaniking job. It obviously was not designed for ease of servicing.
So far the only thing I like about the tractor is the Engine.

Phil, I was looking at the specs on the Kubota page and they show a 3 point hitch kit as well as a rear pto available. Not sure where you would find them today, but they are listed as options.

I had read that also but for the life of me I have not seen anything to speak of. If I ever get caught up at school I am going to pay the Kubota dealer a visit.
